lots of useful information here

I downloaded this book in kindle form to my pc, first time for everything, and it worked. I would recommend that if you can to do so also, as the kindle version is much cheaper. Reading through the whole book took some time , there is a lot of information here. Being a big daily reader, and extremely poor myself, I knew a lot of what's here already. Most readers, I hope will find it very useful in helping them to get along a little better when broke themselves. I was not crazy about all the green living parts , but overall the author does the job well in presenting a lot of material that can ,and I hope will help get them a long a little better financially.

Great informative and practical book!

I have bought and read many books about frugality and they all give tips on how to save money here and there, but Zero Cost Living is very different from all the others in the sense that it also gives reasons about why the current global economy is collapsing and it also teaches how to fight inflation through frugality. At the same time it shows you how to build your own house, how to produce your own food, etc. It gives you thousands of great ideas on how to live very comfortably with very little or no money at all. This book is good for the homeless, the very poor, the unemployed, the low income person, the average income person. I highly recommended it. Best book I have ever read. Angel R.

ZCL is a winner

This was a really good read. The author goes over every aspect of living zero cost from seasteading, homesteading, homelessness, and so on. The book was both informative and thorough. Some of the ideas may be a bit much for my taste (like homeless), but he presents every aspect nonetheless. He also covers many ways to make zero cost living more pleasant, warm, and comfortable instead of a drudge, which is what it could be without using your noggin.

An inspiring story for young women

I know nothing about dogs, and even less about Russia, but O'Brien immersed me in the world of the main character. Lara is a young woman who wants to carry on the family tradition of breeding borzoi fit for a tsar, but her father would rather pass the torch to her brother. With the support of her favorite dog, Zar, Lara tries to convince her father that she is his true heir.

I cheered for Lara by the end, and the book is an inspiration for young women who dream of following unexpected life paths. Grown-ups like me will also enjoy it for the settings and the chance to learn something new about the culture of another nation.

Not pleased with this book at all....killing wolves...taping young captured wolves mouths shut to be used to train dogs to kill? A dog that did not fight back had it's throat ripped out.... a children's book?

What a heart-filled story that all will love!

Annemarie O'Brien tells the story of Lara, a young Russian teen who loves dogs and working in the breeding kennel raising borzoi. (Borzoi dogs look like those on the cover of the book. If you don't know anything about this breed you will after you read this story. And you'll forever be a fan.) Lara's wish is to breed dogs worthy of the Tsar, but her father has other plans for her, especially after he learns that she has "visions" of things that happen in the future, events that affect the dogs. When her father makes her promise to keep her "visions" a secret, she doesn't understand. Is her father ashamed of her? Her father encourages her to learn a different trade, but how can she seek a life without dogs? Why can't her father accept that her heart is in the kennel? Shouldn't she trust her visions and accept them as a gift from God?

Children will feel sorry for Lara and relate to the jealousy she feels when her brother is born. But Lara's parents are the type that every child needs and would be happy to have. I loved how Annemarie depicted a strong and loving family, teaching nobility and promise-keeping.

As a writer of young adult fiction, I found this book fascinating and well-written. (I cried a little too, which is always a good sign.) I will encourage young adults, and adults who love dogs, to read this novel. If I hadn't read this book I wouldn't know anything about the borzoi breed. This book will teach young adults about life in Russia in the early 1900's, the customs from that time, breeding dogs, and raising borzoi. They're learn about another country in another time from a girl's perspective without realizing they're being taught. And they'll have fun along the way.

Well done, Annemarie! This is rich in believable Russian culture and well-written with excellent prose.

In today's ordinary capitalism, neoliberalism is the prevailing political-economic logic that has contributed significantly to unprecedented levels of inequality in an already unequal society. As the new normal, neoliberalism has marketization of the state as a core feature, heightening the role of economic actors, especially financiers, in shaping public policy. The results include increased economic precarity among the general population, giving rise to dramatic political responses on both the Left and the Right (Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party in particular). Schram examines neoliberalism's constraints on politics as well as social and economic policy and gives special attention to the role protest politics plays in keeping alive the possibilities for ordinary people to exercise political agency. The Return of Ordinary Capitalism concludes with political strategies for working through--rather than around--neoliberalism via a radical, rather than status-quo-reinforcing, incrementalism.

The value of a book isn't in it's depth but it's substance

This is a substantial book in that regard. Not a tome but a clear and cogent discussion of a topic dear to my professional heart. It should be a reference in every business technologist's library who deals with process management, high value resources and content.

Great for the executive and practitioner!

Dr. Kirchmer has done a fantastic job of writing a book that can be used by both the executive and the practitioner. Most books either target one or the other but this book provides the perfect combination of useful information for the executive to understand why process excellence can result in high performance; as well as for the practitioner to understand how to make that happen without going into excrutiating detail. I found many useful nuggets in this book and especially like the way the book is structured. The chapters flow very naturally starting with basic definitions of business process and business process management; then going into more advanced topics like process execution, change management and process governance as well as several other topics. Each chapter is also written to stand alone, I found that each chapter was well encapsulated and I could read it independantly from the rest of the book and it held its own. This could prove very useful if you just wanted to share a single concept with a colleague or manager, e.g. you may want to share the chapter titled 'Globalization requires MPE' with a senior executive responsible for a global business unit OR you may want to share the chapter titled 'Information Technology Enabling Process Execution with MPE' with your Information Technology team.
Overall the book was an easy read and short enough to complete in one sitting and also makes a good reference book.
Lastly, I especially like the fact that the author commissioned a pop artist to design the cover of the book as he indicates in the Preface.
