The editors Professor Dipl.-Ing. DDr. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Konrad Bergmeister is a university professor at the Institute of Structural Engineering of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna and has run a consultancy since 1990. He is also editor-in-chief of the journal "Beton- und Stahlbetonbau". Professor Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Johann-Dietrich Worner has been the professor of Structural Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt since 1995 and was the president of his university until 2007. In 1994, he founded the consultancy Worner und Partner, Darmstadt. Since 2007, he has been the chairman of the board of the German Aerospace Centre(DLR). Dr.-Ing. Frank Fingerloos has been with the German Society for Concrete and Construction Technology (DBV) since 2000 with responsibility for construction technology. Since 2008, he has also a lectureship for special topics in massive construction at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. He is also active in the DIN standards committee (NABau) for DIN 1045 and Eurocode 2.

In contrast to the mainly normative discussions on CSR in Germany, this study analyses empirical antecedents and financial impacts of corporate social performance (CSP). It adds to the long lasting research tradition on the business case for CSR by employing hitherto unused data on CSR. The study proposes additional statistical analyses to account for the widely neglected econometric problem of endogeneity due to simultaneous causality. Although the results indicate that CSR can be in line with economic goals in some cases, they do not support the assumption of a generic or even universal business case for CSR.

Good history of the SCL

I bought this book looking for a history of the SCL and photos of the railroad in action. On the history side of things, this book is excellent. It explains the first movement towards merger in the 50s and also provides a nice summation of the Seaboard System railroad.

However, I was disappointed at how Virginia and North Carolina centric this book was. Even though there are hundreds of miles of SCL tracks in Georgia, Alabama, and even Florida, photos and descriptions of their routes through those states are almost completely absent. Even Atlanta, which served as a major hub for some of the most important SCL/Family Lines routes is completely ignored. Augusta receives no attention, nor does South Carolina outside of a few photos from the Greenville/Spartanburg area and a couple photos from the coastal region. Alabama was completely ignored as well. For Alabama this was somewhat disappointing considering how active the old AB&C route was out of Birmingham or the routes out of Montgomery that linked the Midwestern railroads such as the ICG and Frisco to the ports at Savannah and the rest of the east coast.

Overall this is still a great book for a history of the SCL, but not so much for photos outside of Virginia or North Carolina.

I already have purchased previously published TLC books on the Seaboard Airline and Atlantic Coast Line Railroads. This book is a great companion to those. Lots of good photographs. Text is good.

Historical review of the SCL.

History of the Seaboard coast line from its 1967 creation with the merger of southeast rail rivals ACL and SAL,through the Family lines in the late 70's to short lived Seaboard System,and its disappearance into rail giant CSX in 1986.excellent photos of the SCL and rolling stock.discusses events leading up to and the planning and preparation for the merger. section on SCL passenger trains. Heavy on Virginia and Carolina coverage. Light on coverage of Alabama, Georgia and Florida lines.however it's an excellent companion volume to the author's previous books,Atlantic Coast Line, standard railroad of the south. And Seaboard Air line,the route of courteous service.

Sanskrit, a creative energy for manifesting weight loss

After chanting the 10 mantras on this CD for only three days while out walking, I heard my friends say, "You look so radiant." That's how I felt--both energized and full of good health and hope. Having seen for myself what Sanskrit creates when 1,000 names of a diety are chanted during a puja, I understand the power of Sanskrit to create what is being asked: a slim waist, faultless limbs, beauty and elegance, eradication of my sorrow , abundance, and empowerment through the named aspects of the Divine Feminine. This CD will work!

I am just like most people a wife, mother and teacher. I know a lot of thought and love went into the making of this CD. When I was first was introduced to mantra's, I was not so sure about if they would work. I trusted the person that brought them into my life so I thought that I would at least try them. I have learned and tried many different ways of healing and I found that I resonate with mantra. I finally looked into them and tried them and needless to say, I am so grateful that I did. I have found that they have made a huge difference not only in my life but the ones of those I have done them for. I higly recommend the book Healing Mantra by Thomas Ashley-Farrand if you are just getting into mantra's or have been doing them for a while. I found this book to be most helpful to me in understanding how to say the mantra's, how to use them, where mantra came from and some of their purpose. GREAT BOOK!

This is a brand new CD, I am going to get it and use it for myself and others. I have no doubt that it will help heal the deep seated reasons behind overeating or being large.

In 2005 I was searching for some tools to assist me with prosperity issues and was guided by a friend to purchase Namadeva's book "Healing Mantras". After reading that book there was no turning back. I have since gone on to become certified in mantra instruction through Sanatana Dharma Satsang.
While I have not practiced the Discipline for Overeating, I can definitely attest to the success that can be achieved through the daily practice of Sanskrit mantra. Daily practice of mantra will lead you to the most blessed places, places you would have never imagined going. I am so grateful to Namadeva for bringing this tool into my life.
Namadeva is extremely knowledgeable in the use of mantra as a healing tool for any situation. His teachings on mantra are accessible to anyone, no matter what spiritual path they may walk. His work is steeped in the history and stories of India and Hinduism, yet he speaks with a contemporary voice, addressing issues of the day.
